Real Firefighters Wear Pink !
Satellite Beach Fire and Paramedic Services has a new uniform color for the month of October-Pink! For the entire month of October fire department personnel will be wearing pick uniform shirts and raising money as part of their commitment to find a cure for Breast Cancer. Almost every firefighter in our department has been impacted
by this disease either through a parent, relative, or close friend, and they want to do their part in finding a cure.
The department will conduct a “Fill the Boot” fund drive and businesses in the city are playing a part also. Beach Side Grill, Long Doggers, Cantina Dos Amigos and Ace Hardware, all in Satellite Beach are wearing our pink shirts as part of their uniform and will have “Pink Fire Boots” to fill at each location. The fund drive will conclude on November 6, 2010 during the City of Satellite Beach Founders Day festival, were the department will be the selling pink firefighter shirts for $15.00 each with 100% of the proceeds donated to Susan G. Komen foundation.
