Satellite Beach Fire Department has two categories of fire service professionals

  • Professional Career Firefighter
  • Professional Reserve Firefighter

 

Professional Career Firefighter

Career members are selected through a competitive selection process. Career members are dual certified as Emergency Medical Technicians or Paramedics, along with being certified as Florida State Firefighter II. Additionally career members are also certified as Hazardous Material Technicians and Confined Space Technicians.

Position Opening Status

The position for Firefighter/Paramedic closed September 15, 2009. Applications are under review and the top 25 candidates will be contacted for first round testing NLT October 15, 2009. All others will be notified by letter on the status of their application after November 15, 2009

      

Professional Reserve Firefighter

Reserve members are selected through a competitive application process. Reserve members augment the career staff above the minimum staffing levels. Reserve members must be certified as Florida State Firefighter I. Reserve members are required to complete the following

  • Minimum of 48 hours of on-duty ride time on the platoon they are assigned to
  • Attend regular scheduled training sessions.
  • Serve the community in a positive manner

Position Openings

  • Applictions are being accepted for postions that will be open after January 1, 2010. Applications received will be processed after January, 1, 2010.
